The Workshop on “Internet of Things (IoT) Projects” was conducted by the Department of CS & IT on 14/10/2018 at Hall B from 09:00 am to 10.30 am. The programme was convened by Dr. Mohamed Abbas , Head/CS&IT and coordinated by Dr. M.S. Saleem Basha, Assistant Professor and Head-Research Center. The program started with the welcome address and speaker introduction given by Dr. A. Mohamed Abbas, Head-CS&IT, Convener.
Mazoon College signed an MoU with Al Majis and Gitacs Company, on 10.10.18. The MoU was signed by the Dean, Dr. Khalfan Abdullah Al Masrrurii and Majis-Industrial Services, Ceo, Engr Ahmad Al Mazouy and Gitacs Managing Director, Mr Dylan D’Cruz. The witnesses for the signing of the MoU were Dr. Jameela Khatoon, Head CAS;Mr. Emad Al Manthari, Hr & Admin Mnager,Majis and Ms.Virginia Tica, Operation & Business Developer Manager, Gitacs Company. On the occasion were also present the Astt. Dean, Quality Assurance; HoD, Quality Head; Hod’s of Academic Department, Head of Marketing , Head of Students Affairs and President of Student Advisory Council. Both the parties signed a mutual agreement on providing training, job and research opportunities for the students of Mazoon College. It also opened the door for various projects and training courses to be conducted by the companies in the College. Majis-Industrial Services S.A.O.C. offered the sponsorship of 1000 OMR to be utilized for the benefit of the students of the Mazoon College. All the present members appreciated the collaboration of industry with academia. The event was organized by Dr. Jameela Khatoon, Head, Career Advisory Services.
As Mazoon College is preparing to revise the course syllabi of its programs in Spring 2019, English Department held a workshop on “Writing Effective Learning Objectives and Learning Outcomes” to equip its faculty with both theoretical and practical knowledge essential for taking on such an important undertaking. In this workshop, Dr. Bakhtiar gave an overview of the theoretical background to writing learning objectives and learning outcomes. He then elaborated on the importance of learning outcomes for various stakeholders, mainly students, teachers and institutions or administrators. At the end, examples of weak and strong learning outcomes embedded in a course information sheet were handed over and the faculty discussed techniques and strategies concerning how to best align the learning outcomes of each offered course with the Program Learning Outcomes and College Graduate Attributes.
Mazoon College is a private academic institution that has operated under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education since 1997. It was established to provide higher education nationally and internationally in different fields. At present, it has thirteen programs at undergraduate level and three programs at postgraduate level.
