BACHELOR DEGREE IN ENGLISH:

The aim of the Bachelor program is to impart an extended knowledge of English language and literature to the students. The students’ expository, argumentative and analytical skills are improved through interactive discussions and writings on different conventional and contemporary topics.

Who should get enrolled?       

  1. Students who are keen to extend their knowledge in English literature & Linguistics.
  2. Those who want to enhance their interests in the language through a variety of advanced courses in Linguistics, British and American Literatures.
  3. Those who want to develop their critical thinking and to express their views in the language.

 Minimum Eligibility:

  1. Those who have the Secondary High School Omani Certificate or its equivalent approved by the Ministry of Higher Education.
  2. After completing 63 credit hours the student can move to the Bachelor Program in English.

Opportunities:

  1. English is a global language and is used widely in most of the commercial and non- commercial dealings.
  2. A graduate with English major will have many chances to work in different private and public businesses and will also contribute to the growth of Oman economy. The scope of employment in all sectors of Oman economy is  widened with the completion of the graduation in this major. 
  3. They will work competently in media, academia and business fields.
  4. They will gain confidence to face different challenges both nationally and internationally.
